To simplify setup, Datalogic’s user-friendly Aladdin software helps inexperienced users configure their devices. Once done, these general-purpose, corded imagers get to work, reading long, truncated barcodes used by global companies in the light manufacturing, retail, and financial industries.
Their small, lightweight design makes the QW2100s easy to use, while their wide scan angle expedites the scanning of wider 1D barcodes by extending, thinning, and brightening scanning lines. This feature comes in handy when reading wide barcodes commonly used by manufacturers of electronic components. It also prevents users from having to increase their scanning distances.
Datalogic built versatility into its QuickScan Lite QW2100 linear imagers. A specially designed stand with tilting head provides various read angles and collapses for use as a holder. Two interface options—USB and keyboard wedge/RS-232—accommodate different connectivity requirements. Companies can also choose the best configuration for their operations; choices include only ordering linear imager barcode scanners—which are available in bulk packages of 10—or purchasing kits that include a linear imager, a cable, and a stand for hands-free reads.
To prolong the life of its QuickScan scanners, Datalogic covered the exterior of the QW2100s with rubber. The manufacturer also confirmed the imagers’ ability to survive multiple drops onto concrete at distances up to 5 feet and certified their resistance to liquids and dust by awarding them an IP42 sealing rating.
